Johnson, George Robert, 86, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2017. George was in the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War. George retired from Sandvik (Seamco) as Senior Vice President in 1993.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann; parents, George C. and Katherine (Smith) Johnson; and siblings, Billy, Gordon, Raymond, Judy, and Peggy.
Cherishing his memory is his only child, Pamela Peake (Tim); granddaughters, Sara Salerno (Joey) and Janet Young (Aaron); great grandchildren, Brooklyn Salerno, and Eli, Rylee, and Conner Young. He is...

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann; parents, George C. and Katherine (Smith) Johnson; and siblings, Billy, Gordon, Raymond, Judy, and Peggy.
Cherishing his memory is his only child, Pamela Peake (Tim); granddaughters, Sara Salerno (Joey) and Janet Young (Aaron); great grandchildren, Brooklyn Salerno, and Eli, Rylee, and Conner Young. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to his niece, Melanie Smith, for all her love and support. The family wishes to thank longtime caregiver, Stephanie Alexander, and Mercy Works Louisville, for their love, compassion, and care. The family also wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at the Episcopal Church Home for their compassionate care during the last weeks of George's Life.

A life celebration is scheduled for Monday, June 12, 2017 at 2:00pm at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of service.
